FD ROUND ISLAND TOUR

Description:

Our first stop is Demeter ‘s temple, a spectacular recently restored ancient temple of 530 BC. Apart from the impressive monument ,you ll have the chance to visit the archeological museum located in the same area ,giving you the chance to see findings from the site.

We continue our tour and have our next stop at Damalas, a cute little village in the heart of Tragea valley ,where we will enjoy a demonstration at the only remaining traditional pottery workshop and the traditional restored olive press.

Then we drive to Chalki,the neoclassical village where you can walk in picturesque alleys ,visit the traditional citron distillery/museum and have an espresso enjoying the classy atmosphere. Following stop is Panagia Drossiani,,the oldest church in Balcan peninsula estimated from 4th cen AD.

 Our next stop is the most famous village of Naxos,Apiranthos,the “marble village” where you can stroll on the marble cobbled streets and take loads of photos. We drive towards the North part of Naxos island and we end up on the Northest edge of Naxos,at Apollonas village ,a small typical Cycladic village ,ideal for swimming or just relaxing at the various cafes by the sea. On our way back we stop at the impressive Kouros statue ,a colossal unfinished statue of the 6th cen BC and then we head back to Chora,following the North-Northwest coast of the island, enjoying view of Agia tower and North Cyclades islands.

  • On Tuesdays Demeter’s Temple is closed so instead we ‘ll visit Bazeos Tower .

ESSENCE OF NAXOS FD TOUR

Description:

Our first stop is Kouros of Melanes or Kouros the Greek, as it s widely known. It an impressive 6th century BC statue abandoned in the ancient marble quarry, a perfect sample of Archaic period sculpture. Then we have a photostop, as close as possible of the biggest modern Naxos’ marble quarry.

We  cross Kynidaros and drive along vineyards ,enjoying mountain view on whirlwind streets and head to our next photostop, Stavros Keramotis. There will be time to admire the view of both, West and East coast of the island from the same spot, taking spectacular photos and if we are lucky, we might see flocks of mountain goats crossing the street. Next stop is Apiranthos ,the marble village famous for the cobbled streets, alleys which are perfect to take photos and create new memories of your Greek holidays. 

Then we drive on Zas or Zeus mountain, cross Filoti and end up for lunch break at Chalki, the neoclassical style, classy village in the heart of Tragea valley ,where we have lunch break or you can walk in the olive groves to see the Byzantine church of St George Diasoritis (11th cen AD).

Our next stop is at Damalas village to enjoy a fun demonstration at the local traditional pottery workshop,which  it’s really worth it! Following stop is at Bazeos tower ,once a former monastery of 17th cen AD, cultural center and significant monument nowadays .

On our way back to Naxos town, our last stop is Belonia tower, one of the best preserved tower-houses of the island built in 1610 by Geronymo Somarripa, to enjoy spectacular view of Naxos town, the Venetian castle and Paros island.

Description:

Our first stop is Bazeos tower , once a former monastery of 17th cen AD,cultural centre and significant monument nowadays .Then we drive in Tragea valley, famous for the olive groves and Apano kastro,we visit Damalas,a cute traditional peaceful village ,to enjoy a demonstration at the only remaining traditional pottery workshop ,see  the traditional restored olive press and understand the olive oil procedures back then and walk to the village’s square.Following stop is Chalki , the neoclassical village where you can walk in picturesque alleys ,visit the traditional citron distillery/museum and have an espresso enjoying the classy atmosphere and then a visit at the oldest Byzantine church in Balcan peninsula ,Panagia Drossiani (4th or 6th cen AD). Afterwards we have a photostop at a place from where you can enjoy the most spectacular view of Tragea valley and then we cross Kynidaros village. Our last stop is Kouros of Melanes, an impressive 6th century BC statue abandoned in the ancient marble quarry,a perfect sample of Archaic period sculpture. Upon clients’ request, lunch/snack break will be provided at Kourounochori village,with great view of Melanes valley.

Description:

Our first stop is at Galanado village, where we enjoy a unique and beyond doubts interesting demonstration at the only fusing glass art gallery and workshop. Dimitris and Krasimir will show you their techniques and you’ll see that a can of coke is more than garbage. Next stop is a visit at the archeological site of Demeter s temple. Located in a lush valley the spectacular recently restored ancient temple of 530 BC will amaze you, along with the interesting museum nearby.

Then we head to the cute Tragea valley village of Damalas to enjoy the vivid demonstration at the only remaining pottery workshop where you’ll see what is “sfouni” and how it’ s used  or the “cup of justice” .Following stop is Chalki, the classy neoclassical village where we visit the citron distillery-museum, taste local delicacies or olive oil or walk in the olive groves to see the Byzantine church of St.George Diasoritis.

For lunch break, if you wish , we suggest a local tavern near Moni village ,well known to the Naxians, where you can sit and have lunch/snack break under a huge oak tree with view of nature and Zas mountain! It’ s totally worth it!

SUNSET NAXOS HIGHLIGHTS TOUR

Description:

Our first stop is Damalas village where you can enjoy a vivid demonstration at the only remaining pottery workshop where you ll see what is “sfouni” and how it’ s used  or the “cup of justice” .Following stop is Chalki, the classy neoclassical village where we taste local delicacies,honey,jam or olive oil at a local herb store or walk in the beautiful village taking loads of photos .

Then we cross Filoti,drive on Zas mountain and head to our next stop ,Apiranthos,the marble village where we walk on the cobbled streets, see another use of emery (local exported mineral) in art and end our walk the village’s square and learn about local legends. Our goal is to show you an unforgettable sunset,a memento from your holidays so we ll drive you to the best sunset view of the island in a tavern where you can also enjoy your dinner,coffee or dessert,according to your wishes

PARENTS-CHILDREN FUN DAY TOUR

Description:

It’s a combination of walking (easy level) and bus tour which includes the following:

First,we waik and enter the Venetian castle ,where we visit the Ursuline school, walk in “1739” famous cafeteria ,located at the terrace of the school’s dormitories,to enjoy the magnificent view,see the Commercial School and find ourselves in the Catholic Cathedral .Then we walk through the maze of medieval alleys ,which makes you feel as if you are in a different timezone and leave the castle through the “Trani Porta” ,the unconquerable gate.

 Then we visit a Candy workshop in the old market area where all the family will be amazed by the procedure of making candies,the flavours will excite everyone and of course you can try them as well.We keep walking in the old market and end up at  a Citron distillery shop where parents can try the unique Naxian product,citron liquor, and children can try naxian loukoumi or citron fruit.

 Afterwards, our airconditioned Covid19 free coach/mini bus will pick us up and take us to an organic farm with several animals such as sheep,goats,ducks,chickens etc where all of you will experience the farm life. There you have the option to pick your vegetables and cook with the farm’s owner in woodoven so you could spend more hours in the farm or after visiting the farm ,there is the option of driving you to a nearby beach where you can all swim and have lunch at a tavern by the seashore.

Lunch expenses  are not included,unless you agree on cooking at the farm.

BIG BLUE TOUR

Description:

A tour planned to show you South Naxos and specifically the unknown to many ,part of the island. Our first stop is Damalas,where you enjoy a fun, vivid demonstration at the traditional pottery workshop. Manolis,the potter ,shows us in his unique way how he makes traditional items such as Sfouni or how the Cup of Justice works. An experience you’ ll never forget! Then we cross Filoti,drive on Zas Mountain and reach Apiranthos ,the marble village,where we ‘ll stroll in the village of tradition ,walk up to the main square and then we start driving on the whirlwind road to Moutsouna ,the once port of emery ,on the East Coast of Naxos .We go on ,having view of the various beaches such as Psili Ammos,Kanaki,Kleidos and there we are at our fantastic destination,Panormos bay ,the peaceful protected from winds bay.

At 13.00 the 2hour boat part of our tour starts ,where we travel by fishing boat to Rina’s cave and enjoy along the way viewof South Naxos’cliffs,shores and tyrqouise water. We stop for a while outside Rina ‘s cave,swim in there and dive from above. Your photos ,sent to you later by the boat owner,will be a remembrance of your experience. On our way back to Panormos bay,we will be treated with local raki,rusk bread,organic tomatoes and local cheese . At around 16.00 we start our driving back to town.

OFF TRACKS TOUR

Description:

A tour addressed to visitors of Naxos who are active and willing to explore the island, visit places you wouldn t find at the ordinary “crowded” bus tours. A tour dedicated to Naxos’ lovers!

We start our tour, visiting Demeter’s temple ,the ancient restored marble temple of 530 BC. A monument really worth visiting ,not only because of the temple but also because of the magnificent museum located at the same area. Then we drive in the rural area of Gyroulas valley and we stop at St George Adissarou church on the feet of Apalyrou castle ,from that point we walk on the old Byzantine paths heading to Adissarou  springs and the pro-Minoan time olive tree (4500 years old),a quite recent discovery. A nice path to walk,an interesting path in nature. Afterwards our nature discovery tour goes on and we visit Chalki ,to walk in the olive groves and see the Byzantine church of St.George Diasoritis (11th cen AD) .

Last but not least,we cross Filoti and head to Aria springs with it crystal-clear, drinkable water and Zas Cave,which is located at the western side of Mount Zas, at an altitude of 600 meters. The cave exhibits unique geological interest. A 10 meters high and 2,5 meters wide gate leads to the impressive interior of the cave, that can reach 115 of height and 75 meters in width. The cave has imposing stalactites and stalagmites. Next stop is lunch break stop at a traditional tavern near Moni village ,with exceptional mount Zas view and excellent food selection.
