At a distance of 7 km from the Town of Naxos and 2 km from Gerontoelia of Adisaros (which claims the title of the oldest olive tree in the world), on a hill is the farm of Giannis, the Armeos Farm Experience, as his wife Katerina persuaded him to call it. A farm, which passed from generation to generation to reach Giannis!

At Giannis’ s farm you have the opportunity to become a farmer for one day!! Following his steps you will reach the paddock, there you will meet his 200 sheep and goats, you will have the opportunity to feed them and of course do not hesitate to ask for milking in the traditional way (unique experience!) Then you can take a short walk at the 500 crowns of the farm, where the animals graze freely all day. Surely your eye will fall on the old mitato, the one built by his great-grandfather, he is 150 years old, but he stands there, although half-destroyed.

It is Mrs. Soso’s turn to visit her in her henhouse and meet her friends. Do not forget to collect eggs (Katerina will fry one for you later and you will go crazy!) Surely Giannis will suggest you walking among his trees, his oranges, pomegranates, cherries, etc. and a little further away he will show you his wineyard, he watches it like his eyes, to give him his wine in August, while this imposing red tomato color will lure you into the “mpaxe” with all its goodies!

However, I believe it’s time to drink a refreshing sour cherry under the wild olive tree and try Katerina’s pie. While meeting Lyka, the playful dog who enjoys the coolness of the olive tree and supervises the area!

Shall we make some cheese now? Arseniko or otherwise kefalotyri is the imposing cheese of the company, but xinotyro is what steals the impressions with its shapely shape. For lovers of the saltiest taste there is the touloumotyri and feta cheese. John’s father, always there discreetly next to his child, will tell you all the secrets that the old people had to make their cheese, which was never missing from their table. Gianni’s father was also taught by his father Manolis, (if you peek through the iron door of the Mitatos you will see the initials of the name “MB”, a creation of Giannis to honor his grandfather, who inherited him all this property). Of course, you will also get into the mitato! In every corner there is an image from old times. From the great-grandmother’s iron to the old scales that his great-grandfather weighed.

For the end I have left the best part! Go to the mpaxe, cut a few zucchini, ask Giannis to give you a handful of grated kefalotyri and

make a pumpkin pie with Katerina, without a leaf, of course, mulberries !! Sit under the bougainvillea and enjoy it! In general, if you feel like cooking you, ask Katerina to make one of her specialties together, from stuffed in the wood oven to pork fry with peppers!

The duration and price of our activities vary depending on your choice! A simple visit and tour of our place lasts from half to one hour. While if you want us to make cheese then we will exceed 1.5 hours!

Our farm is open from April to October from 10.30 am to 5.00 pm.You need to let us know for your visit at least 24 hours in advance so that we can prepare all the goodies and welcome you in the best possible way.
