Itinerary
Our first stop is at Galanado village, where we enjoy a unique and beyond doubts interesting demonstration at the only fusing glass art gallery and workshop. Dimitris and Krasimir will show you their techniques and you’ll see that a can of coke is more than garbage. Next stop is a visit at the archeological site of Demeter s temple. Located in a lush valley the spectacular recently restored ancient temple of 530 BC will amaze you, along with the interesting museum nearby.
Then we head to the cute Tragea valley village of Damalas to enjoy the vivid demonstration at the only remaining pottery workshop where you’ll see what is “sfouni” and how it’ s used or the “cup of justice” .Following stop is Chalki, the classy neoclassical village where we visit the citron distillery-museum, taste local delicacies or olive oil or walk in the olive groves to see the Byzantine church of St.George Diasoritis.
For lunch break, if you wish , we suggest a local tavern near Moni village ,well known to the Naxians, where you can sit and have lunch/snack break under a huge oak tree with view of nature and Zas mountain! It’ s totally worth it!
