This impressive 6th-century BC statue lies unfinished in an ancient marble quarry and is one of the most characteristic examples of Archaic sculpture on the island. You will also enjoy a photo stop as close as possible to one of the largest modern marble quarries of Naxos.
The tour continues through Kynidaros, driving along vineyards and mountain roads with beautiful views of the Naxian countryside. Before reaching the next villages, you will stop near Panagia Drosiani to admire the magnificent view over the Tragea Valley.
Next, you will visit Filoti, the largest village of Naxos, located at the foot of Mount Zas. Here you will have free time to explore the village, walk towards the church of Panagia Filotitissa, visit the Folklore Museum, stroll through the old market area or enjoy a coffee at the famous village square under the plane tree.
The following stop is Apiranthos, the famous marble village of Naxos. Its cobbled streets, traditional alleys and authentic Cycladic atmosphere make it one of the most picturesque places on the island and an ideal stop for photos and relaxed exploration.
Afterwards, you will drive towards the northern part of Naxos and reach Apollonas, a small traditional seaside village on the northern edge of the island. Here you can enjoy free time for swimming, a seaside walk or a relaxing break at one of the cafés by the sea.
On the way back, you will stop at the impressive Kouros of Apollonas, a colossal unfinished statue from the 6th century BC. The return route follows the north and northwest coast of Naxos, offering beautiful views of Agia Tower and the surrounding Cycladic islands before returning to Chora.
