South Naxos Private Tour
Discover the wild and lesser-known side of South Naxos on a private full-day tour with traditional villages, pottery, Apiranthos, Moutsouna, Panormos Bay and an optional fishing boat experience to Rina’s Cave.
Discover South Naxos on a private full-day tour designed to show you one of the most beautiful and lesser-known parts of the island. This experience combines traditional villages, mountain landscapes, the east coast of Naxos, peaceful beaches and the unforgettable turquoise waters of Rina’s Cave.
Your first stop is Damalas, a traditional village where you will enjoy a fun and vivid demonstration at the local pottery workshop. Manolis, the potter, will show you in his unique way how traditional items are made, such as the “sfouni”, and how the famous “Cup of Justice” works. It is an authentic local experience that you will not easily forget.
The route then continues through Filoti and along Mount Zas, offering beautiful views of inland Naxos before reaching Apiranthos, the famous marble village. There, you will stroll through the traditional alleys, walk up to the main square and enjoy the special atmosphere of one of the island’s most picturesque villages.
After Apiranthos, you will continue along the winding road towards Moutsouna, once the port of emery on the east coast of Naxos. From there, the route carries on with views of beautiful beaches and coastal areas such as Psili Ammos, Kanaki and Kleidos, before reaching the peaceful and wind-protected Panormos Bay.
Around 13:00, the boat part of the experience begins, if arranged. From Panormos, you travel by fishing boat towards Rina’s Cave, enjoying views of the cliffs, shores and turquoise waters of South Naxos along the way. You will stop near Rina’s Cave, where you can swim, explore the crystal-clear water and, for the more adventurous, dive from the rocks.
Photos taken during the boat experience may be sent to you later by the boat owner as a beautiful memory of your day. On the way back to Panormos Bay, you may be treated to local raki, rusk bread, organic tomatoes and local cheese, depending on the boat arrangement.
Around 16:00, you will begin the drive back towards town, completing a full-day journey through the landscapes, villages, coastlines and hidden sea treasures of South Naxos.
Pickup and drop-off are included.
